Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how RivSpace ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from our website, or when you create an account using your email address or your Google Account. By using RivSpace, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the information we need to operate our store and fulfil your orders:
- Account information — your name, email address, phone number, and (for email sign-ups) an encrypted password.
- Order and delivery information — the items you order and the shipping address, recipient name, and phone number needed to deliver them.
- Payment information — processed by our payment providers. We do not receive or store your full card details.
- Usage information — pages viewed, products browsed, and general device and browser information.
- Cookies and local storage — used to keep you signed in and to remember your cart and currency preference.
3. Signing In With Google
You can create an account or sign in using "Continue with Google". When you do, Google shares a limited set of information with us, and we ask only for what is required to identify you and maintain your account:
- Your name — to greet you and label your account.
- Your email address — to identify your account and send order confirmations and shipping updates.
- Your Google profile picture — stored as your account avatar, where one is provided.
We request only the basic openid, email, and profile permissions. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Contacts, Calendar, or any other Google service or content.
RivSpace's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell your Google user data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to provide and secure our service, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and keep you signed in
- To process, pack, and deliver your orders
- To send order confirmations, shipping updates, and receipts
- To provide customer support and answer your enquiries
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- To improve our products, site, and shopping experience
- To send marketing messages, only where you have opted in and with the ability to unsubscribe at any time
5. Cookies and Session Data
When you sign in, we set a secure, HTTP-only cookie containing a signed session token so that you remain logged in as you browse. We also use your browser's local storage to remember your shopping cart and your selected currency. These are strictly necessary to operate the store; we do not use them to build advertising profiles. You can clear them at any time from your browser settings, which will sign you out.
6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the store, and only the minimum needed:
- Payment processors — to charge for your order and confirm payment.
- Delivery and courier partners — your name, address, and phone number, so your order can be delivered.
- Email and hosting providers — to send order emails and run the website.
- Legal authorities — where we are required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.
7. Data Retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is open. Order records are retained for as long as required for tax, accounting, and warranty purposes. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal information except where we are legally required to keep it.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption of passwords, encrypted connections (HTTPS), HTTP-only session cookies, and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and correction — view and update your name and phone number at any time from your account page.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and personal information by contacting us.
- Marketing opt-out — unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in any marketing message.
- Revoke Google access— remove RivSpace's access to your Google Account at any time from your Google Account permissions page. Sign-in will stop working until you grant access again.
10. Children's Privacy
RivSpace is not intended for children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. International Data Transfers
We are based in Nigeria, and some of our service providers store data in other countries. Where your information is transferred outside your country, we take reasonable steps to ensure it continues to receive an adequate level of protection.
12. Third-Party Links
Our site may link to third-party websites, including payment pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated on our website.
